Sonnenschein Shorthairs was founded in 1974 by my sister, AKC Sporting Group and Best In Show judge Betsy Yates. The foundation dam was Ch. J and J's Bronze Starr Image. Cassie was owner/handled by Betsy and acheived Top Ten status during her specials career. She whelped two litters which included numerous show champions and several obedience title holders. The foundation sire was Ch. Lieblinghaus V Sonnenschein. Travis proved his worth as a stud dog siring multiple litters which included numerous show champions, several obedience title holders, and a Top Ten daughter. Betsy kept two females out of one of her Cassie x Travis litters; Ch. Sonnenschein's Centerfold (Angel) and Ch. Sonnenschein's Reflection (Sadie). Their litter sister, Ch. Sonnenschein's Sassy Lass CGC, belonged to me and is the dam of Paisley. As Betsy pursued her judging career, I continued the Sonnenschein breeding program and with much success. Well-respected by fellow GSP breeders across the country, I was honored to be nominated and elected to judge the GSPCA National Specialty Show Futurity in 2004. This futurity boasted the largest entry in club history.
